Summer (dec, jan, feb): The season for fun and sun lovers! Long, brilliant days of sunny brunches, midday ocean dips, champagne picnics, lovely languid afternoons, festival frivolities, seaview bars with hip local music, outdoor movies, ocean cliff walks, art exhibitions, bikini exhibitionists, markets, games and parties. There’s a reason why bondi beach is one of the world’s most popular summer spots!
Autumn (mar, apr, may): Things cool down a bit but the atmosphere (and water) stay warm and provide the perfect backdrop to a host of events and festivals. Highlights include pro surf comps, Mardi Gras beach parties, Seaweek Festival, Seniors Fair, Youth Week art & music festivals, Earth Hour and events as part of the Sydney Writer’s Festival, Head On Photo Festival and Reconciliation Week.
Winter (jun, jul, aug): Instead of hibernating, bondi beach visitors and locals enjoy the crisp, sunny winter weather and the festive offerings of our eclectic seaside village. As well as local art awards and the world’s largest marathon run (City2Surf), the Bondi Winter Magic Festival kicks off with a local Fair in June, street art, music, movies, food, fashion and features the ever-popular ice skating rink – yes, down on the beach!
Spring (sep, oct, nov): Ahh, my favourite season! bondi beach starts to blossom again with warmth, more sunshine and a revving up of spirits, energy and visitors. We enjoy the fabulous Festival of the Winds kite-flying fest and the famous Sculpture by the Sea, featuring over 100 outdoor artworks along the magnificent coastal walk. Being the driest season, it’s the perfect time to meander the weekend markets or revel in our outdoor lifestyle in preparation for another scintillating summer.
